The Legacy Path, a 20 minute audio documentary written and voiced by Evan, is inspired by the multimedia project The Secret Path by Gordon Downie and Jeff Lemire, which tells the tragic true story of 12-year-old Chanie Wenjack who died while trying to run away from an Indian residential school in 1966.
The audio documentary serves as a dedicated effort to preserve the memory of Chanie and all Indigenous people who suffered and died due to the residential school system, while also honouring the survivors of this historical trauma.
The ultimate goal of The Legacy Path is to inspire listeners to take action and promote reconciliation between Canadians and Indigenous people through awareness, education, and changing the way we think about Canada's dark past.

Dear friend,
While I am not associated in any way with The Secret Path project created by the late Gordon Downie, I want to contribute to the mission of "doing something" by promoting truth & reconciliation and by fostering respect & love between Indigenous & non-Indigenous people in Canada. The best way I can do that is by spreading the word on this page & by donating all proceeds of my book "Tonight We Take Parry Sound" to The Downie Wenjack Fund. The goal of the fund is "to improve the lives of Indigenous people by building awareness, education and connections between all Canadians". As a country, we once forced Indigenous children out of their homes, took their culture & language from their hearts & ripped their families & way of life apart.
We have an opportunity to change the way we think, feel & do. I invite you to begin those changes by watching The Secret Path film & by exploring the links below. When yer ready, maybe you can create yer own way of "doing something". Do anything. Measure yer happiness with the love you can give.
